A Few E Commerce Platforms Crushing It In 2017If you are thinking about launching an e-commerce platform this year for your online business, you'll need to consider these major platforms to help you grow that company. You need to choose a platform that has capitalized on both social commerce and mobile commerce trends.

Shopify

More than 325,000 online stores are hosted on Shopify alone. With more than 100 different templates to choose from, more than 1500 apps to make your store as functional as possible, and support available around the clock, it's easy to see why Shopify has become one of the most popular e-commerce stores today.

ComfortUp

Comfort Up tries to make things as simple as possible when you have questions about your indoor air quality and keeping things heated or cooled. Being able to access all of the materials to do so efficiently is just one of the major benefits of using this site. The fact that this company niched down so specifically makes them a great target for e-commerce in 2017. We’re looking at them as the ones to dominate the ductless air conditioning niche in 2017.

Big Commerce

Although Big Commerce is relatively new to the scene, having been launched only in 2009, more than 55,000 online stores are currently hosted using this website. Whether it's a small business or Toyota and Martha Stewart, this platform can cater to a store of any size.

With built-in features like shipping, newsletters, analytics and taxes, and the fact that all paid and free themes are responsive and enable individuals to get onto your website easily and have a wonderful mobile experience, Big Commerce has become one of the major competitors for Shopify in recent years. If you are thinking about starting an online business or being able to identify the best places to purchase materials online, consider these sites.

Amazon

You can’t have a discussion about ecommerce without mentioning one of the biggest players in the game, right? However, other platforms have made it possible for people to, in some cases, undercut Amazon or offer a better option. Where Amazon comes out on top is with their Prime two-day shipping and low prices. Other big retailers in the traditional box store model are looking to transition over to an FBA model to expand their influence, so they may give Amazon a run for its money. It will be tough to topple this giant, however!

Wal-Mart

Most people know Wal-Mart for their brick and mortar model based on a wide selection and rock bottom prices. But the retailer is looking for expansion into the online market. The company purchased Jet.com recently and Wal-Mart is ranked fourth in the country for e-tail overall. Amazon, however, has a much bigger lead beyond Wal-Mart, with $92.45 billion in sales compared to Wal-Mart’s $13.7 billion. Given that Wal-Mart has the resources to back a better online effort, however, those numbers could change.

What’s your favorite e-commerce website? As a consumer, the growth of this market means you have more options than ever before and that more e-commerce giants can expect to make a splash in the coming years.
